In 2021 when President Joe Biden took office, I wrote 100 postcards and letters for the first 100 days of his presidency. You can see one of those postcards on my post, Writing Letters to Elected Representatives, a guide.
Today Scranton Joe officially announced he’s running for re-election. And so I started another 100 days of postcards.
Please join me in writing to Biden. You don’t have to send 100 postcards. Maybe just add to your to-do list weekly to write 2 sentences about something that matters to you to the White House contact page. How else will this candidate for re-election know what you think? The next time you want to complain about something on twitter or facebook, load the White House contact page and hit send on the complaint there.
Want some ideas? I can give you some! My first postcards will be to push for a paid sick leave guarantee, to demand single payer healthcare, to urge the federal government to inform the public which hospitals are doing poorly with hospital acquired spread of covid, to promote and fund virus wastewater monitoring, to keep masks in healthcare, to authorize covid vaccine boosters more than once a year based on the science, to expand and defend medicaid, to provide free rapid at home covid tests, to provide free PCR covid tests for all, perhaps expand the House of Representatives. Yes, I have a laundry list of things to write about, & I bet you do too.
