Funded advertising for the idea of state sponsored ethnic cleansing in America is not a good sign.
And I really don't want my tax dollars paying for that bullshit, do you?
I've pointed out before the similarities with what some of the MAGA people say they want and genocides like in Rwanda in 1994. And a few months ago I was on The Letterhack talking about how checkpoints were already becoming more common in America and that it was not a good sign. And now there are pointless checkpoints popping up in Washington DC.
The White House official social media account posted a thread of people arrested in the DC occupation, and every person pictured was said to be non-white. The official Department of Homeland Security; a government agency I opposed at the time of its formation on the basis of the name alone; well, the DHS social media account has been posting nazi and various white supremacist movement "code word" stuff. But this didn't come out of nowhere. I witnessed people who worked in a government building using "code words" like 1488 here in Scranton about 8 years ago. And I still remember writing to complain to my state level reps and the governor over a decade ago, when an article was published bragging about how the state law enforcement was "wreaking havoc" on purpose in Harrisburg area neighborhoods, and the article was full of photos of non-white people being arrested. The author of that cop ride-along article went on to work at high levels of state government, he worked as the Deputy Press Secretary for the PA Attorney General Josh Shapiro until he became governor.
Benny Johnson has been promoting what certainly sounds like a violent state sponsored ethnic cleansing of Washington DC, he talks about bulldozing entire neighborhoods, for example. He also claimed he wanted this because he's had "epitaphs" yelled at him in DC, I imagine he meant epithets. The only reason I even know this guy's name actually is because he was mixed up in that Tenet Media scandal where it was shown these right-wing media influencers, including Benny Johnson, were being paid by the Russian government. And apparently more recently people suspect that his Youtube subscriber count is being populated inauthentically perhaps with troll farm bots. The American government is actually putting out Nazi propaganda now, coy "code words" from the white supremacist movements. I am still appalled that the Trump administration did an anti-vax campaign in 2020, and I wasn't even keen on the Biden administration employing pro-vax influencer in some capacity, since at the time this person was listed as a government contractor they were posting prolifically on Twitter, and often undermining vaccines and public health. And we see now what happened to the Biden era paid CDC consultant who seems to be now vying for a position with MAGA via MAHA.
So many people in the information space appear to be mercenary and lack transparency, to say the least. I do think the government should do good messaging, transmitting accurate information transparently. But I don't like my taxes going to pay deceitful and dodgy influencers, and I certainly don't think I should have to pay for people promoting ethnic cleansing in America with my taxes.
My letter to reps (who are all basically republicans at the highest levels):
I don't want my taxes paying for government workers to get on internet and do far right white power and Nazi "code word" stuff on the social medias. It's unbecoming, and also a waste of resources and taxpayer dollars. And what happened to claims of transparency? Codes are the opposite of transparent, even if they are obvious to some of us. I sometimes wonder what my World War II veteran father would say if he were alive today.
